Job Description

The Concrete Foreman’s main function is to oversee the field crew and manage the job site with the following activities but not limited to: form footings, form walls and piers, place reinforcing, set up slabs, pour finish slabs, pour and finish sidewalks. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Crew Management: Training, task assignment, scheduling, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising performance, recommending compensation actions, ensuring they are adhering to policies and procedures, and disciplinary actions as needed 
  • Collect, sign, and turn in timecards by Sunday each week
  • Meets operational standards by maintaining production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, resolving problems, and identifying areas for improvement
  • Work with the Project Manager and Purchasing Manager to manage field equipment including, ordering, calling off, communicating issues, and efficient use while onsite
  • Ensures that all employees are equipped with required personal tools
  • Understand blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings
  • Report to work prior to crew start time
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Skills and Abilities & Knowledge: 

  • 5+ years of experience is required (3 years of running work)
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle, Insurable under the company’s vehicle policy
  • Must be able to read commercial construction drawings
  • Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written
  • Knowledge of construction management processes and procedures
  • Must be able to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including general contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, superintendents, managers, and co-workers
  • Ability to work independently and be detail oriented, analytical and have problem solving capabilities
  • Must be able to follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Education and/or Experience 

  • 5+ years of experience is required (3 years of running work)

Travel Requirements: 

-Willingness to travel as necessary to other job locations 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Clean DMV record
  • Availability to report to different shift schedules as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to navigate active jobsites. This includes being able to safely walk stairs, scaffold, and uneven ground, as well as duck and maneuver around obstacles.
