The Form Setter and Finisher, under the direction of the Concrete Foreman/Lead carries out assignments related to concrete placement, finishing, curing and cutting, based on the proper selection of equipment, materials and finishing sequence needed to deliver an acceptable end-product.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Required to perform a variety of tasks including erecting and setting forms for concrete structures for buildings according to specifications and drawings,
- Patching and repairing of concrete work, concrete restoration and concrete joint treatments.
- Proficient in the use of the following tools and has the knowledge to use the equipment at the proper time of the place-finishing sequence: straight edges to establish grade, bull floats, float blades, combo blades, and finish blades.
- Hand tools for floor finishing, edging, joint tooling. Single and double trowel machines.
- Curing, pump and vibratory equipment. Walk-behind trowels and double riders.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment required.
- Ensures proper maintenance of place/finish equipment and tools.
- Set string lines form boards, check slopes and elevations
- Read Survey stakes and finish concrete
- Report to work on time
Skills and Abilities & Knowledge:
- 3-5 years Form Setting
- Operate walk behind and ride on power trowels properly
- Ability to operate backhoe
- Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written
- Knowledge of construction processes
- Ability to work independently and be detail oriented, and have problem solving capabilities
- Must be able to follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)required
- Minimum 3-6year’s experience is required with a minimum of 3 years running work
- Ability to read, understand and complete job related documents and forms
- Know the abbreviated and common construction terms for the equipment and materials used
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, crawl and pull
- Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handing average weight objects up to 50pounds
Travel Requirements:
-Willingness to travel as necessary to other job locations
Physical Requirements:
- Availability to report to different shift schedules as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to outside weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes and or loud noises
- Ability to navigate active jobsites. This includes being able to safely walk stairs, scaffold, and uneven ground, as well as duck and maneuver around obstacles.
