Project Accountant

Cresleigh Homes is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their Accounting and Finance team at the home office in Sacramento!

The Project Accountant is part of the Accounts Payable department  within the Homebuilding Division for the Cresleigh Homes Corporation Sacramento office.  The Project Accountant reports directly to the Senior Accounts Payable person, with the responsibility of overseeing all the day to day payable duties for ongoing construction projects.  The Project Accountant and other members of accounting team in the Homebuilding Division will work with a diverse group such as the site supers, escrow coordinators, sales and marketing people, VP of Land, the VP of Construction, and the General Manager.

Job Duties:

• Accounts Payable entries and processing for vendors
• Accounts Payable entry and processing for site development
• Lien release knowledge
• Insurance follow-up
• Account reconciliations
• Process check runs
• Audit check runs
• Audit and process GC invoice packages
• Project start-up coordination, which includes working with superintendents and vendors
• Good communication skills a must
• Must meet deadlines for payment schedules
• Good organizational skills

 Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred but not required.
• Must have prior experience in Accounts Payable. Homebuilding and or apartment accounting experience is a plus.
• Conscientious and able to work independently with minimal direction from manager
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Knowledge of Newstar a plus
